On July 29-30, Human Rights Education and Monitoring Center (EMC) organized a training for the media representatives. Together with the guest speakers, discussions took place concerning human rights conditions of non-dominant religious and ethnic groups living in Georgia. The participants examined main challenges that exist in state policy in this regard based on the cases from Kvemo Kartli, Pankisi valley and Achara.
The overall goal of the event was to shed light on the extant barriers concerning the participation of ethnic and religious minorities in public and political life in Georgia. As well as increasing public interest towards the rights-related conditions of these groups.
The training was held with the support of The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) within the framework of the East-West Management Institute (EWMI) program "Promoting Rule of Law in Georgia" (PROLoG).
