Sophie Zviadadze studied International Law and International Relations at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. She obtained Master’s Degree in Political Science, Sociology and Religious Studies at the Westfalen Wilhelms University of Muenster (Germany). She received her PhD degree in Political
Science and Sociology at the University of Muenster (Germany). Her research areas are: religion and politics, transformation of religiosity, memory and identity studies, Islam in Georgia, urban sociology, xenophobia, and intercultural education. She collaborates with educational institutions, NGOs
in various educational and research projects. Sophie Zviadadze holds the position of Associate Professor at Ilia State University. She is the chair of Master Program in Religious Studies at Ilia State University.
